eSIM General

  • An eSIM is a digital SIM that is embedded directly into your device. It functions just like a traditional physical SIM card, allowing you to make calls, send SMS, and use data, but without needing to insert a physical card.

  • Hotlink eSIM is supported on a wide range of devices, including:

    • Apple: iPhone XR, XS, SE (2020 & 2022) and newer models (iPhone 11 to 16 series), as well as cellular models of iPad, iPad Air, iPad Mini, and iPad Pro from 2019 onwards.
    • Samsung: Galaxy S20, S21, S22, S23, S24 series; Galaxy Note20 series; Galaxy Z Flip & Z Fold series; Galaxy Tab S9 series; and LTE models of Galaxy Watch.
    • Other Brands: Select models from Google Pixel, Honor, Huawei, OPPO, Vivo, and Xiaomi.

     

    Your device must be running the latest software version to ensure compatibility.

    • Hotlink Prepaid: You can get a new Prepaid eSIM instantly through the Hotlink app or by visiting any Maxis Centre.

    • Hotlink Postpaid: You can sign up with an eSIM at any Maxis Centre, Maxis Exclusive Partner (MEP), or through the Hotlink Online Store.

    • Hotlink Postpaid:
      ➔ Convert instantly via the Hotlink app (active line required). Quick & easy!

    • Hotlink Prepaid:
      ➔ Visit any Maxis Centre for assistance.

    • Prevailing SIM Replacement charges may apply.
  • An eSIM profile can only be used on one device at a time.

    • Hotlink Postpaid: You can transfer your eSIM to a new compatible device directly from the Hotlink app on your new phone.
    • Hotlink Prepaid: You cannot reuse your eSIM on a new device. You must visit a Maxis Centre to get a new eSIM replacement for your new phone.
  • A one-time fee of RM10 applies for:

    • Converting from a physical SIM to eSIM
    • Transferring your eSIM to a new device

    Hotlink Postpaid - SIM Activation fee apply.

  • You should call our customer service hotline immediately to suspend your line to prevent any unauthorised use. After that, please visit any Maxis Centre with your MyKad (or passport for foreigners) to get a replacement SIM.

  • Yes, you can. Simply visit your nearest Maxis Centre to request a SIM replacement and specify that you need a physical SIM card. Please note that standard SIM replacement charges may apply.
