• How do I activate International Roaming on my mobile phone?

  Hotlink Prepaid: Roaming is automatically activated when your prepaid line is activated.
  
  Hotlink Postpaid: Dial *100# > Select Intl Roaming > Choose your destination country > Select ON
  

• Do I need to pay any fee for subscribing to International Roaming service on my mobile phone?

  No, there is no fee for subscription to International Roaming. Your International roaming usages are charged on pay-per-use and in the form of passes such as DataRoam Pass. 

• Can I still turn on the International Roaming service when I am already abroad?

  Hotlink Prepaid: Roaming is automatically enabled by default.
  
  Hotlink Postpaid: Yes! Activate it even while overseas by dialing *100# > Intl Roaming > Select your country > ON.

• Can I call Hotlink customer care line for assistance from abroad for free?

  If you need assistance while abroad, you may dial *123# from your mobile phone at no costs.

• How do I check if Hotlink roaming is available in my destination country?

  Before traveling: Check roaming coverage, services & rates here.
  
  While abroad: You’ll receive a Welcome SMS confirming the network and available services.
  
  Note:
  In countries with no data roaming, turn off Data Roaming in your phone settings to avoid charges. Use Wi-Fi or local SIMs instead.
  

• How do I check roaming rates for calls, SMS and data?

• How do I save on calls to Malaysia while I’m abroad?

  Use our Roam 120 service to enjoy better savings whenever you call Malaysia from overseas.

  To use, dial *120*<country code><area code/mobile prefix><phone number># to call.

• What is the charging block when I make call from abroad?

  The charging block for making call from abroad is 60 seconds.

• Can I use 5G while roaming?

  Yes, you will be able to enjoy 5G while roaming in selected countries if you meet all the following requirements:

  • Using a 5G capable device.
  • Using compatible 4G LTE SIM. To check, just dial *100*6*1*4# from your phone.
  • Have 5G settings enabled on your device

• I'm currently roaming on SK Telecom in Korea. I noticed they are on VoLTE. What do I need to do to be able to use VoLTE here?

  If you have enabled VoLTE on your phone and currently using it in Malaysia, you will enjoy VoLTE seamlessly when you roam in Korea with SK Telecom.

  If you have yet to enable VoLTE, you just need to enable it on your mobile phone at Setting > Mobile Network > Mobile Data > Enable VoLTE.

  *Steps to enable VoLTE may differ subject to mobile device models.

• How do I use VoLTE while roaming internationally?

  If VoLTE is enabled on your device in your home country, it will work automatically on supported networks abroad.
  To enable VoLTE:
  
  Go to Settings > Mobile Network > Mobile Data (steps vary by device).
  Toggle VoLTE ON.
  
  Note:
  VoLTE availability depends on device compatibility and the visited network’s support.
  

• Will there be any extra charge for my VoLTE call while roaming?

  There is no additional charge for VoLTE calls. Your call will be based standard roaming call rate; For rates, check here.

• Will the VoLTE call utilizing data from my DataRoam pass?

  VoLTE call is done through your phone’s dialer, no application and data required to support your call. You just need to ensure you have activated roaming, enabled VoLTE on your phone and roam on the specified operator.

• How to perform manual network selection while roaming?

  To manually select a network while roaming (if your phone doesn't select to automatically to the preferred roaming partners) follow these steps based on your device type:
  
  For iPhone

  • Open Settings.
  • Tap Cellular > Cellular Network or Network Selection.
  • Turn off Automatic network selection.
  • Wait for available networks to appear, then select your preferred carrier.

   

  For Android

  • Open Settings.
  • Go to Connections > Mobile Networks > Network Operators.
  • Turn off Select Automatically.
  • Wait for the list of networks, then choose the desired one.
