For Hotlink Prepaid customers, international data roaming is automatically activated when you activate your SIM. You don’t need to perform any additional setup. Once you arrive overseas, your phone will connect to an available partner network, and you may immediately begin using roaming data.
For Hotlink Postpaid customers, you can activate international data roaming at any time, whether you are in Malaysia or overseas, via Easy Menu:
- Dial *100#
- Select Intl Roaming
- Select Any Country
- Select Intl Roaming again
- Select ON
Once activated, your device will use the partner network at your destination, allowing you to make calls, send SMS, and use roaming data according to your selected roaming plan or pay-per-use rates. -
No. There is no subscription fee for activating international data roaming. You only pay for actual usage, either on a pay-per-use basis or through specific roaming plan passes (such as DataRoam Passes). Activation itself is completely free for both prepaid and postpaid users.

Yes. Hotlink Prepaid customers have data roaming enabled by default, so you can turn it on in your phone settings and start using data immediately upon landing. Hotlink Postpaid customers can also activate international data roaming from overseas using the Easy Menu:

- Select Intl Roaming again
- Select ON
Your phone will reconnect to the supported local network, enabling calls, SMS, and roaming data based on your roaming plan. -

- Select Intl Roaming
- Select any Country
- Select Intl Roaming again
- Select ON
- Log in to the Hotlink app
- Go to myHotlink
- Select Manage Value Added Service
- Ensure Roaming is checked
Once enabled, you can browse, stream, hotspot, and stay connected overseas using your existing quota.

Yes. Voice calls and SMS while roaming are charged based on the country you are visiting. Rates vary depending on the network operator you connect to. Here’s how you can check the exact call/SMS/data rates for your destination.
- Open the Hotlink international roaming page.
- Use the country dropdown.
- Pick your destination.
- The page instantly shows all call, SMS, and international data roaming rates.
This allows you to confirm all charges before making calls or sending SMS abroad.

If you need assistance while abroad, you may dial *123# from your mobile phone at no costs.

While abroad: You’ll receive a Welcome SMS confirming the network and available services.
Note:
In countries with no data roaming, turn off Data Roaming in your phone settings to avoid charges. Use Wi-Fi or local SIMs instead.

Yes, you will be able to enjoy 5G while roaming in selected countries if you meet all the following requirements:
- Using a 5G capable device.
- Using compatible 4G LTE SIM. To check, just dial *100*6*1*4# from your phone.
- Have 5G settings enabled on your device

If you have enabled VoLTE on your phone and currently using it in Malaysia, you will enjoy VoLTE seamlessly when you roam in Korea with SK Telecom.
If you have yet to enable VoLTE, you just need to enable it on your mobile phone at Setting > Mobile Network > Mobile Data > Enable VoLTE.
*Steps to enable VoLTE may differ subject to mobile device models.

If VoLTE is enabled on your device in your home country, it will work automatically on supported networks abroad.
To enable VoLTE:
Go to Settings > Mobile Network > Mobile Data (steps vary by device).
Toggle VoLTE ON.
Note:
VoLTE availability depends on device compatibility and the visited network’s support.

There is no additional charge for VoLTE calls. Your call will be based standard roaming call rate; For rates, check here.

VoLTE call is done through your phone’s dialer, no application and data required to support your call. You just need to ensure you have activated roaming, enabled VoLTE on your phone and roam on the specified operator.

To manually select a network while roaming (if your phone doesn't select to automatically to the preferred roaming partners) follow these steps based on your device type:
For iPhone- Open Settings.
- Tap Cellular > Cellular Network or Network Selection.
- Turn off Automatic network selection.
- Wait for available networks to appear, then select your preferred carrier.
For Android
- Open Settings.
- Go to Connections > Mobile Networks > Network Operators.
- Turn off Select Automatically.
- Wait for the list of networks, then choose the desired one.

You can only receive SMS messages. Until your line is back in active status again, you won't be able to make or receive calls, purchase roaming passes, or utilize roaming data.
