What is the new Hotlink Postpaid Plan?
Effective 26 Mar 2020, Hotlink Postpaid Flex will be renamed to Hotlink Postpaid. All plan features and rates remain the same.
What do I get by signing up with a new Hotlink Postpaid Plan?
Hotlink Postpaid Plan combines the best of Hotlink Prepaid with the convenience of Postpaid.

Who can sign up for these plans?
These plans are open to all consumers. It is applicable to port-ins, pre-to-post migration and new registrations.
Are there any limitations to the unlimited calls and SMS?
No, there are no limits to the unlimited calls and SMS. However, customers will be subjected to Maxis’ Fair Usage Policy and we reserve the rights to interrupt, bar, suspend or restrict the service if the customer’s usage appears unusual. Please refer to the rate plan’s Terms & Conditions for further details.
The Plan(s)’s unlimited calls and SMS are applicable to which types of call and SMS usage?
It is applicable to domestic mobile/fixed ON-net & OFF-net usage (excluding video calls, calls to chargeable 1-300/1700/600 numbers and calls to TM100 and 121 numbers).
Can I use the unlimited calls and SMS and pre-allocated mobile Internet quota while I roam?
No, you cannot. Unlimited calls, SMS and pre-packaged mobile Internet allocation are applicable for domestic use only.
If the monthly allocation is not fully utilised, will it be carried forward?
No, the free allocations (calls, SMS & Internet) cannot be carried forward. It will be automatically forfeited upon completion of your bill cycle.
Can I upgrade my quota in the event my pre-allocated mobile Internet quota depletes before the end of my bill cycle?
Yes, you can purchase exclusive Hotlink Postpaid plan mobile Internet passes via UMB menu (*100#) or via the Hotlink Postpaid App (https://www.hotlink.com.my/e).
Passes are as follows:
- 4GB + 3GB YouTube (Auto-renew) @ RM10
- 2GB @ RM10
- 1GB/1 day @ RM3
- 3GB/2 days @ RM5
Can I change my rate plan after I have subscribed to Hotlink Postpaid Plan?
Yes, you can change or upgrade to any other Maxis Postpaid Plans.
If I subscribe to Hotlink Postpaid in the middle of my bill cycle date, will my monthly commitment fee, allocated calls, SMS and Internet be pro-rated?
The monthly commitment fee will be pro-rated and you will not be charged the full commitment fee for the first month. You will be charged the full commitment fee from the second month onwards. However, you will be given the full data allocation from the first month. Calls and SMS are unlimited.
Add-ons purchased (i.e 4GB + 3GB YouTube @ RM10) will be charged in full on the first month.
Is the advance payment refundable?
No, but advance payment will be offset against the first month’s invoice and any extra will be carried forward to the following month.
Will I get an SMS notification for my mobile Internet allocation usage?
When you hit 60% and 100% of your allocated mobile Internet usage, you will automatically receive an SMS informing you of your usage at that moment. SMS notification is near-real time.
If I sign up for Hotlink Postpaid Plan, am I entitled to a supplementary line?
No. There are no supplementary line plans for Hotlink Postpaid.
How do the Unlimited Bundles work?
For the respective Unlimited Bundle, any usage of the application will not be deducted from the base quota and will be drawn from the bundle (with a Fair Use Policy of 1TB within the bill cycle).
However, within the app itself, there are some third party sources (such as embedded YouTube videos, or external websites opened via app) which will count as normal data instead.
Can I tether the Unlimited Bundles to my laptop?
Yes, you may tether the Unlimited Bundles to other devices. However, there will be a speed cap of 5Mbps applied to the tethered data.
I’m converting my Hotlink prepaid number to Hotlink Postpaid. I still have some credit balance in my prepaid account. What will happen to my credit balance once I have converted my plan to Hotlink Postpaid?
When you move to Hotlink Postpaid, your credit balance will be credited into your new Hotlink Postpaid account, and you will see it reflected in your first bill.
I have RM50 credit balance in my Hotlink account. Can I use this balance to offset my Rate Plan Advance Payment?
You will still have to pay for the advance payment upon moving to Hotlink Postpaid. The advance payment and credit balance will be offset against the first month’s invoice and any extra will be carried forward to the following month.
What happens when I use up all my Internet quota?
Upon depletion of your quota, you can continue surfing WITHOUT ADDITIONAL CHARGES at reduced speeds. Alternatively, you may purchase additional mobile Internet passes via *100# or via the Hotlink Postpaid app at www.hotlink.com.my/m
I am currently subscribed to the 5GB @ RM25 auto-renew mobile Internet pass. What happened to it?
The mobile Internet pass has been removed for new and active. subscribers, but existing subscribers can continue to enjoy the pass as long as they remain subscribed.
If you decide to remove the pass, you can no longer subscribe to it.
However, if you have an existing contract on Hotlink Postpaid 60, you must terminate your contract and pay the penalty in order to move over to Hotlink Postpaid 30.
What happens to my 4GB + 3GB YouTube @ RM10 pass if I move to Hotlink Postpaid 60?
As the 4GB + 3GB YouTube @ RM10 pass is not available for Hotlink Postpaid 60, it will be removed from your subscription when you switch to Hotlink Postpaid 60. However, you will still be charged for it for that billing cycle.
I have already finished the 4GB + 3GB YouTube from my RM10 pass. Can I buy another RM10 4GB + 3GB YouTube pass?
Each subscriber is allowed 1 of the same auto-renew pass only. Your quota will be refreshed upon your bill cycle.
You can, however, buy and stack as many one-time mobile Internet passes (except for non-recurring Unlimited Passes).
Can I still use the Unlimited Bundles when my normal Internet quota has depleted?
Yes, you may still use Unlimited Bundle when your normal quota hits 0.
However, within the app itself, there are some third party sources (such as embedded YouTube videos, or external websites opened via app) which will counts as normal quota and will load at throttled speeds.
Why did I suddenly get 4GB + 3GB YouTube for my RM10 pass?|
We have upgraded the RM10 pass from 4GB to 4GB + 3GB YouTube at no additional cost. Existing subscribers to the RM10 will get a full 4GB + 3GB YouTube quota during this upgrade, and will continue at 4GB + 3GB YouTube @ RM10/month upon the next billing cycle.
Why did I suddenly get an additional 10GB YouTube data on top of my normal 10GB data in my Hotlink Postpaid 60 rateplan?
We have upgraded the Hotlink Postpaid 60 rateplan so now, on top of your normal 10GB data, you’ll get an additional 10GB YouTube data at no additional cost.
Existing subscribers to Hotlink Postpaid 60 will get a full 10GB YouTube quota during this upgrade, and will continue at 10GB + 10GB YouTube @ RM60/month upon the next billing cycle.
How will my data be depleted after this additional YouTube data?
For non-YouTube Internet surfing, data will be depleted normally from non-YouTube specific data passes.
For YouTube Internet surfing, data will first be depleted from your YouTube specific data passes. Once depleted, then any YouTube Internet surfing will start depleting from your non-YouTube specific data passes.
However, there are some third party sources within YouTube (such as external websites opened via app) which will count as normal data and hence may deplete from non-YouTube specific data passes instead.
I have depleted my YouTube data passes, what happens when I surf YouTube?
Once you’ve depleted your YouTube specific data passes, any further YouTube Internet surfing will start to deplete your remaining non-YouTube specific data passes.
However, once ALL your data quotas have been depleted, you can still surf YouTube for free but at a reduced speed until your next data quota refresh.
